There are the people you see on stage, and there are the people who make the stage possible.

To our Heiva San Diego team, thank you.

Some of you have been with us for sixteen years. Some for a few years. Some joined us only this year. It does not matter how long. You became part of something we could never have built alone.

What people see is the production. The lights. The stage. The music. The dancers. The moments that stay with us long after the weekend is over.

What they do not always see are the hours behind it. The early mornings and late nights. The problems solved quietly. The heavy lifting. The planning. The running. The stress. And the people who simply step in and say, “What do you need?”

Every year, we ask ourselves how we can make it better. How we can raise the production. How we can improve the experience. How we can give the dancers a stage worthy of what they bring to it.

None of that happens because of one person.
It happens because of all of you.

Whether you have given us one day or sixteen years, you have placed your hands on Heiva San Diego. You helped build it.

For that, we will always be grateful.

Māuruuru roa to our team. This Heiva belongs to you, too. ❤️🌺

Doing a repost in this because I loved it from Hianau Laughlin Ep Ellis

🎤 Sione Haatoa Francois Vainuku Anthony Kauka Stanley | Musician Anthony Vainuku

For three days, you were the voices of our event, keeping the energy alive, guiding us through every moment, and bringing warmth, excitement, and professionalism to the stage.

Being an Emcee is no small task. It takes focus, stamina, quick thinking, and heart, and you carried us through an entire weekend beautifully.

Thank you for giving Heiva San Diego your voices, your energy, and your time.

We are so grateful to have had you with us. Māuruuru roa brothers. ❤️🌺

A big thank you to the drummers of HEIVA SAN DIEGO 2026. 🥁

Some came from Tahiti. Some came from across America. They came from different groups, with different styles and different stories.

Then they sat down together and played.
For hours.

Every one of them was skilled. Every one of them gave something to the floor. They watched the dancers. They listened to one another. They kept the rhythm moving and the competition alive.

There is no Ori Tahiti without the musicians. The dancers move, but the drummers give them the heartbeat.

What made this year special was seeing musicians from Tahiti and America come together with one purpose: to play, to support the dancers, and to honor the culture.

Māuruuru roa to every drummer who gave us their time, their hands, and their music. We are very lucky to have your dedication and skill.
YOU were the heartbeat of HEIVA SAN DIEGO. ❤️‍🔥🥁
Mauru’uru roa to Jeff for leading the group and Ofa for sharing his drums. 🪘 🥸 Marcus Amen lead #2 😭

A very special shoutout to our incredible judges who traveled all the way from Tahiti to be part of Heiva San Diego 2026. 🇵🇫

Thank you for bringing your knowledge, experience, and love for Ori Tahiti to our competition. Having you here means so much to our dancers and to all of us who work to keep this culture strong and respected.

And a special māuruuru to Kehau, who not only joined us as a judge, but brought her school, Aratoa, all the way from the Fenua to join us for HEIVA San Diego 2026.

We know what it takes to make a journey like this, and we are deeply grateful. Māuruuru roa to all of you for being part of our Heiva. ❤️🇵🇫

Meet our new ambassadors, MISS & MISTER HEIVA SAN DIEGO 2026 Ivana So’oto-Moi and elijah tiguelo

More than titleholders, they are true advocates for ‘Ori Tahiti.
Photo Aldryn Estacio

Both have dedicated so much of their lives to not only learning this art, but living it through the discipline, the culture, the community, and the responsibility that comes with representing it.

Their love for ‘Ori Tahiti is seen in the time they give, the work they put in, and the way they continue to learn and share.

We are proud to have them represent Heiva San Diego this year and to carry the spirit of Tahiti forward with pride, respect, and mana.
