OpenOceans Global was interviewed on March 7, 2025, on Resilient Earth Radio, a program produced by Storm Studios. It was a chance to share our work and expertise and provide an update about “Plastics in our Oceans and the UN Plastics Treaty Negotiations.” The interview first aired on KGUA public radio in Northern California. OpenOceans Global has provided "An assessment of the status of the international plastic treaty negotiations." Cuts to plastic production are off the table, intersessional meetings will focus on two groups. One will assess the chemicals of concern in plastic products and look at product design. The second will explore how to finance the implementation of the treaty. Click below to see the full report.

As OpenOceans Global continues to address the ocean plastic crisis, we are always grateful for accurate reporting on the problem and our work. This story by Dagmar Midcap of NBC7 on her Down to Earth series did a great job capturing the facts and our new approach to the problem using an online app to document and visualize coastlines pervasively fouled by plastic. We are also thankful for great coverage in the San Diego Business Journal, La Jolla Light, and a number of other local news outlets and international trade publications.

A San Diego nonprofit is giving everyone around the world the tools to fight ocean pollution. NBC 7’s Dagmar Midcap has the story.
