STEPPING STONES FOR NOVICE INTERPRETERS.

Starting May 1, 2026, the CATIE Center is once again offering a free course on preparing for interpreting exams as part of its self-directed track from our Dive In project.

* Preparing for Performance Exams for Novice Interpreters.

This self-directed course was developed for interpreters preparing to take professional performance exams or screenings and to provide resources and tools for reflection and practice. Participants will have the opportunity to self-assess interpreting samples, reflect on performance and readiness, and apply specific practice and preparation strategies. Course contains guidance and resources to support ongoing development and preparation.

* Coming May 31:
CASLI Performance Exam Prep for Deaf Interpreters.

This course is adapted from a general course for any interpreters to specifically be targeted for Deaf interpreters. Facilitated by Dr. Naomi Sheneman, there will be opportunities for meetings in Zoom to discuss the material in the modules with Dr. Sheneman and your peers. Registration is open, but facilitation will not start until May 31. Zoom orientation (which will be recorded) is on June 1.
