San Diego Renewable Energy Society (SDRES)

San Diego Renewable Energy Society (SDRES) SDRES is a membership-based organization dedicated to increasing the use of renewable and sustainable energy technologies throughout the region.

Why do we exist? Given the choice, we would generate energy from CLEAN and RENEWABLE power sources like sun, wind and water that are never depleted and that replenish rather than harm our environment. While costs of fossil fuels are rising and and present security challenges that are increasingly volatile, renewable energy costs are decreasing and creating not only environmental, but sound economic solutions with potent capacity to revitalize our community.

We could achieve the enormous social benefits of a zero-emission energy system at essentially no extra cost.

SAN DIEGO: Come Celebrate San Diego Renewable Energy Society's Summer Solstice Party!
Wednesday June 21, 2017, 5 - 9pm

SDRES and many other organizations in San Diego have done a tremendous amount to move the region to 100% renewable energy.
The City passed the Climate Action Plan, which calls for 100% of electric use in the city to be from renewable sources from 2035!
Homeowners and businesses have installed over 110,000 rooftop or private solar installations!
SDG&E provided 43% renewable energy in 2016, and is well ahead of the Renewable Portfolio Standard mandate!
Community Choice Aggregation offers other municipalities the option to purchase renewable energy!
Over 24,000 electric vehicles are on San Diego roads!

With the commitment from local governments, the widespread adoption of solar, and the move to cleaner cars, SDRES has met it's mission to move the region to renewable energy. So please join us to celebrate SDRES and our partners in making this happen. There is still work to do – but many others can now build on our success.
