San Diego Carries. Carrying babies, children, and each other.

To foster community with providing education and resources that support the bond between caregivers and children, primarily though babywearing education.

Babywearing International is a national nonprofit organization that was established in 2007. Its aim is to promote and educate caregivers about safe and comfortable babywearing. Babywearing International of San Diego serves central San Diego County and beyond through meetings, workshops, playdates, discussions, and other events.

Important Announcement

Due to a shortage of volunteers, all in-person meetings will be suspended until further notice.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has ever attended, supported, or contributed to our meetings. Your participation has been invaluable in helping build the sense of community we all cherish.

Although we won’t be meeting face-to-face for now, our group remains active and open! We encourage everyone to continue sharing advice, offering support, and engaging in meaningful discussions here online. Together, we can keep this community strong and connected.

We loved seeing new faces and socializing with other caregivers.

We have our usual lending library on the forth Thursday of the month and we added a bakery meet up in May ☕️🥐👶

When your little one burrows into your chest, it’s their way of seeking comfort, warmth, and security. This natural instinct helps them feel safe and connected while you’re hands-free.

However, we always want baby to be getting enough fresh oxygen. When baby burrows, gently redirect their face and remember TIKS.

With these tips you can nurture that bond, keeping your baby close while being ensured of their safety. 🌼👶

Unfortunately many of our volunteers are fighting off illness this week and we will need to cancel this months event. All carriers currently out will be due back in February without facing any penalties.

We look forward to seeing you all healthy next month.
