UCSD Pediatric Diabetes Research Center The PDRC is San Diego's hub for type 1 diabetes research. Additionally, investigators examine the impact of type 2 diabetes medications on adolescent patients.

Research - With a focus on type 1 diabetes, researchers at the PDRC are investigating what happens to insulin-producing beta cells in the course of auto-immune destruction, how to generate new beta-cells from stem cell and other tissues, why insulin becomes less effective and what interventions may improve it, and many more issues.
