Meet Ruth, 9, and Flor, 6, from the distant Espancocha. With parents farming in fields far away, the sisters stay in Patacancha to attend school at least 3 times weekly. The family's sustenance comes from farming and their father's trips to the Valley for work. Talented in Quechua singing and passionate about dance, these sisters' playful and mischievous spirit and enchanting voices capture hearts effortlessly. We know how much of a difference can be made for these children, so this month Nuttzo is doubling whatever you donate. Consider donating to help nurture Ruth and Flor's talents and education, as well as many other children's.

The LiVolsi family's journey began in a Ukrainian orphanage in 2002, adopting sons Gregory and Matthew but leaving others behind. Gregory's health struggles led to the creation of NuttZo, a more nutritious nut butter. In 2008, fueled by a passion for change, Danielle left her job, brought NuttZo to market, and founded Project Left Behind. Our mission, shaped by the LiVolsi family's experience, ensures every child Project Left Behind supports has education, improved nutrition, and a stable environment. Join this inspiring journey! Please donate this month for NuttZo to match your donation. Thank you for supporting our mission for positive change.

🌟 Supporting Bright Futures! 🌟

At Nuttzo, we believe in empowering children and providing them with the tools they need to thrive. That's why we're proud to support Project Left Behind, our sister-non-profit that supports a children’s home in the sacred valley of Peru.

Meet Luz Mery and María Angélica, two remarkable girls who have recently found solace and hope at the children's home. Before coming here, Luz used to walk for hours every day to reach school in the isolated community of Yanamayo. The journey was physically exhausting, but what was even more disheartening was the bullying she faced due to her smaller size. It took a toll on her self-esteem and made her withdraw.

María, an only child living with her mother, also hails from Yanamayo. She's grateful to have found a companion in Luz, who understands her struggles and shares her journey from the same town.

Thanks to Project Left Behind and the support of caring individuals like you, Luz and María now have access to a nurturing and supportive educational environment. They are no longer alone in their challenges, as they have found a safe space to grow, learn, and dream big.

Together with Nuttzo, you can make a difference in the lives of children like Luz and María. By choosing Nuttzo products, you are not only indulging in delicious and nutritious nut butter blends, but you are also contributing to the cause. A portion of our proceeds goes directly to Project Left Behind, providing essential resources and opportunities for children in need.

Let's spread the love, raise awareness, and create brighter futures for children. Join us in supporting Project Left Behind and together, let's make a lasting impact!

Luis Mario Update 🤗 electrician

Here is a photo that Luis sent of him doing his intership work in the rural area.

The Name of the company where he is currently doing his intership is: AVRAE SRL (They are a service located in the Sacred Valley that works for the company that provides electric power generation, transmission and distribution in the south of the country)

He says since he is still learning and started with them not so long ago, they give him the tasks no one else wants to do, like going to rural areas for example, to install new electricity meters, reading them, fixing broken ones, deliveing electricy bills. He says he does not feel like he is learning as much as he did in the previous company. He is looking for another company.

At school he needs to work on a final project in order to graduate, he is still finding out how much that would cost, he found a classmate that will be doing the poject with him so they can share the expenses.

Thanks for all your support! He couldn’t do it without you!

A letter from Rosi (PERU project):
HOME UPDATES – OCTOBER TO DECEMBER 2022
Dear friends of PLB, our very kind greetings to you, hoping that this year 2023 brings joy, happiness and good health, for each one of you and your families.
We start by mentioning the current situation in our country, on December 7th the President of the Republic at that time, Pedro Castillo tried to dissolve the congress and hours later we had a new president, Mrs. Dina Boluarte, for these and many other reasons there were social upheavals and currently We find ourselves in a situation of instability and disorder in Peru, even more so in the southern zone and in provinces from which Urubamba is not exempt, where the social demonstrations and strikes are being greatly felt; blocking of transport routes (roads) shops in general, devoid of basic necessities and this led to the price of products increasing. We had to go buy supplies at dawn and transport them on foot in order to not be attacked by the protesters.
Now, we will inform you of the activities carried out in October, November and December.
● In October, contact was made with the relatives of the children who are being considered for the year 2023 in the home. It will depend on the places that are obtained in public schools in the following months.
● Some trips were made with Reyna in search of a relative to help us with the pending documents to get her ID.
● We had a visit from the social development area of the Urubamba’s municipality, agronomists that can guide us with the production of compost.
● We participated in the activities of the different public schools on a mandatory basis, so that parents become more involved with their children's education.
● Workshops and conversations have been held with all the children and collaborators in order to be prepared to face possible natural events such as earthquakes.
● The Municipality of Urubamba invited us to participate in the parade of institutions and schools for Urubamba’s day. We participated together with parents who came down from their communities.
● Various activities with the different schools.
● In December we received 3 new children, the 3 are siblings (Hebert, Edgler and Cintya), wemade an exception for temporary admission, since their situation warranted it and they were in great need. They will also be in the Home in 2023.
● In December we had a surprise visit from Javier, Reyna's uncle (her father’s younger brother) who lives in Puerto Maldonado. For Reyna it was very surprising and it caused her great joy since her father, as we mentioned before, has not come to visit her, nor has he called her for almost 10 months.
● The children held craft workshops, making Christmas cards. They were also rehearsing Christmas carols for the small contest of our New Year's Eve and Christmas party.

● We did a new classification and arrangement of the books in our library. We do this work together with the children. The encoding is still pending.
● An agreement was reached with the Niños del Arco Iris Foundation school, which is in the Querocancha sector of Urubamba; so that they give us priority in providing spots at the school for new children and in turn we can also provide support to the school with children in cases that merit shelter support.
● The Christmas meeting was held on December 23 with the children's families, we were able to share a meal and the chocolate with the collaboration of the parents.
● Yanet said goodbye to The Home with words of great gratitude. She managed to get a scholarship provided by a godfather, the same person who paid for her school tuition at "Sol y Luna" she will start a bachelor degree that will allow her to study at a university after finishing this.
● Milagros unfortunately could not enter Mosqoy, she is not yet sure of what she wants to study, but intends to work for the moment until she sees what she really wants. We will be in contact with her to see her situation and if possible, support her.
● The strikes and mobilizations also affected school activities, they got prolonged, so some schools had their closure on December 29 and 30.
● We finished the year with 20 children at The Home.
● It is expected that the number of children to be housed in 2023 will be a minimum of 24, due to the great demand and need, especially from Andean highland communities where the situation is more difficult in every aspect.
This is all we can report regarding these last months of the year 2022.

With love,
Rosa Isabel

Note: We still need to raise $30K for this project and the 4 young adults we support with higher education. Thanks for your continued support!
