Dear SMR residents,

Community Safety Reminder:

The HOA is in place to keep property values intact, by ensuring owners are abiding by the Governing Documents of the Association. However, suspicious persons, theft, fire, and any other such emergency should be handled and reported to local authorities. Although this seems standard, we receive numerous calls on a monthly basis after hours as well as during the normal business day, reporting situations and people that are beyond our scope of service. If you are in doubt, you are welcome to contact us, and we will do our best to assist in directing you to the appropriate personnel.

The Chula Vista Police Department now has an accessible website where you can submit non-emergency reports such as harassing phone calls, hit and runs, identity theft, theft from a vehicle, etc. If you are experiencing a non-emergency, please visit the CVPD website to submit your report.
https://www.chulavistaca.gov/.../services/online-reporting or call 619-691-5151.
If you have an immediate threat to life or property, please contact 911 or the CVPD direct line.

Stay safe!

Some customers are seeing intermittent errors with this site/page. We’re aware of the issue and are working on it urgently.

Gym Reminders

Although some of these reminders may be repetitive and
feel like they are unnecessary, our office receives multiple complaints regarding the following issues:
- Children are okay to be in the gym if they are not on a machine or using the equipment, right? No! For the safety of other residents using the gym and your children, no one under the age of fourteen (14) is permitted within the gym.
- Why can I not use the gym after swimming in the pool or relaxing in the spa? Again, for the safety of yourself and other residents, appropriate workout attire and shoes are required at all time when utilizing the gym. If you use the gym after utilizing the pool or spa, it can create a slip hazard for yourself and other residents using the gym. In addition, you are also not properly dressed or in the condition to use gym equipment.
- I need an hour of cardio to get my routine going, why am I only limited to 30 minutes per station? Although we understand the gym has it low peak use hours, every resident should be limiting their use of a station to 30 minutes per the rules and regulations. We have over 3,500 residents in the community and the community gym does not have multiple stations like a commercial built gym typically has.
- I like to carry weights while walking the perimeter of the pool, is that okay? No! All equipment should remain within the building of the gym

Do your part in the community. Pick Up Your Trash!

We would like to remind residents that while our landscapers maintain the common area vegetation, they are not contractually obligated to pick up or remove trash from the common areas.

Let’s all work together to keep our landscaping clean and free of debris by ensuring trash is properly disposed of—this also includes making sure that pet waste is properly disposed of and not left in common area landscaping or walkways. Please utilize one of the numerous doggy stations in the community. Also, the doggy stations/trashcans are not for disposal of personal (home) trash.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation on this matter!

The Heat Is On With Pests This Summer

Summer brings abundant sunshine, family vacations, and long, lazy days. It also brings more insect pests. Scientists have predicted that insects will be more prevalent and active in California this summer. There are multiple reasons why pest populations – including mosquitoes, flies, ants, stinging insects, spiders, and mice – are more populous and visible in and around homes. Warmer temperatures also expand the habitats that allow pest populations to flourish, increase survival rates, and provide more time to reproduce, thus introducing more pests into the environment. Please take the appropriate steps to ensure your property isn’t taken over by annoying pesky pests. Contact your local pest control for help on how to properly approach this issue.

Dear SMR Residents,

Please Slow Down!

Unfortunately, it has been noticed that many residents are speeding up and down the streets within our community. With school back in session, let’s be aware of our young residents walking home and crossing the streets. As a reminder, the speed limit is 25 mph in residential areas. Additionally, school buses pass through our neighborhoods daily to pick up & drop off our children. If a stopped school bus is displaying a Stop Sign and flashing red lights, all vehicles in either direction must stop and wait until the bus moves again or the red lights are off.

If you as a resident notice a blatant traffic violation, please report incidents to the Chula Vista Police Department, Traffic Division at 619-476-5320. The more reports they receive, the faster they will respond. Let’s keep our community safe!
