Honored to highlight Career Day speaker Patrick G. Fulgham, Founder of 1C13 Incorporated, who volunteered his time to pour into Mission Bay High School students during the Terrell L. Bruce Memorial Fund’s annual Career Day on Thursday, February 5, 2026. With dual master’s degrees in Education and Management, Patrick brings deep experience in the nonprofit sector and a mission-driven focus on serving poverty-stricken families and underprivileged youth facing limited educational resources.

Patrick shared how those inequities inspired him to build 1C13 Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to providing support, access, and opportunity—what he calls “a gift that keeps giving.” He also stressed how clear and concise communication, paired with a broad, empathetic perspective, are essential skills that transfer to every area of life and leadership.

As part of Career Day, Mission Bay freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors engaged with professionals across animal welfare, non-profit administration, law, communication, marketing, fundraising, education, engineering, real estate, and entrepreneurship. Mission Bay student ambassadors escorted speakers to classrooms where they led 15–20 minute presentations and Q&A, while the Terrell L. Bruce Memorial Fund provided breakfast and lunch to support a full day of learning and connection.

We are honored to partner with leaders like Patrick who model service, resilience, and intentional post-secondary planning for the next generation.
