Our latest member of the week is… SANDY MEKANY! 🤩

Sandy is a third-year Political Science major at SDSU, with minors in Honors Interdisciplinary Studies & Sociology! She joined Rotaract this past fall semester and has already made such a difference in our club with her positive attitude and kind heart!

On campus, Sandy is super involved, holding leadership positions in , , , and SDSU’s Southwest Asian and North African (SWANA) program!

In addition to her impressive list of extracurriculars, Sandy excels academically. She is in the Weber Honors College, and was chosen from a competitive pool of SDSU students to travel to Washington DC this past fall semester and serve as a Congressional Intern! From her experience, Sandy says that her internship allowed her to learn firsthand about different communities and their struggles: “Understanding these issues has inspired me to seek a career in law, where I believe I can best practice service above self and advocate for an equitable justice system”.

In Rotaract, Sandy says she most enjoys “being a part of a community of likeminded individuals who always encourage me to be the best version of myself and work for the good of our community. My favorite part is the amazing friendships I have been able to foster while simultaneously enhancing my professional development skills”.

We are so grateful Sandy is part of our organization and want to shine the spotlight on her because she works so hard and is such a light!

🌟Congrats to our first member of the week for 2022… COOPER CRAVEN! 🌟

Cooper is a freshman studying Management & Human Resources, and he is a new member of Rotaract! After only one semester at SDSU, Cooper has gotten extremely involved on campus with roles in Hall Council and External Relations Board! Cooper is also one of only a few students selected to be a part of this year’s Scholars Program!

Cooper has a huge heart for service, as he is one of our members signed up to volunteer for Camp Enterprise in March! His favorite Rota volunteer event was Chuck4Charity to help raise money for our 3 beneficiaries, & ! In the past, Cooper also served as a Team Leader for the Middle School Leadership Conference for 4 years straight!

With his new involvement in Rotaract, Cooper shares that his favorite part so far is “being part of a body of individuals focused on making the world around them a better place”! In his free time, Cooper loves watching movies, trying new foods, and thinking about why things in the universe are the way that they are. We are so excited & honored that Cooper is a part of our organization!
