Got Extra Fruit? Join our backyard growers network!
We’re forming small groups of residents (based on zipcodes) who have a surplus from their fruit trees and more harvest than we can use. If you’ve ever had your citrus, avocados, or other fruit go to waste because you didn’t know what to do with the extras, you’re not alone!
While platforms like Facebook and Nextdoor are great, we’re looking to create a more efficient, community-based way to regularly connect and share surplus fruit.
We imagine this group could:
• Share seasonal fruit directly with neighbors
• Partner with local farmers to include extras in CSA boxes
• Learn how to turn surplus fruit into value-added goods like jams, dried fruit, or juices
