We were blessed with an incredible day at The Vineyards Golf Course during our 7th Annual Golf Tournament to benefit the BLAST Program. It was an overcast and breezy day giving our golfers a wonderful day on the greens. Those golfers, in turn, blessed us through their game fees, miscellaneous extras, and awesome Silent Auction prizes! Everyone went home a winner!!!

PQ Auto Repair has been a most generous and faithful component of our on-going shoe drive (shoes that are good, bad or just plain ugly!) If you take 10 pairs of unwanted footwear when scheduling work with Brent or Tony (ya gotta see Sean first!) they will give you 10% off all parts needed to bring your car up to s***f!

A great big THANK YOU to three Thrift Shops in Poway: RB Presbyterian, St Michael's and St. Bartholomew's as well as PQ Auto for their huge support of the BLAST Shoe Drive. The August collection/pick-up was our most successful ever. All monies will be used to assist those struggling families in the BLAST extended school day program at Los Pen in need of partial scholarships for their family tuition. A shout out also to 7 Oaks residents, New Hope Church AND this summer's NHC Vacation Bible School families for their donations! Woooo Hoooo!

Shoes With Heart has partnered with BLAST. They will pay us for collecting unwanted footwear (shoes, boots, skates, etc.) They then forward useable shoes to Third World countries; unusable shoes are shredded and recycled keeping them out of landfills. Comment here to donate; we'll arrange pickup.

School ended with a frenzied field day! Who DIDN'T have fun?!?!! And because of the successful BLAST Benefit 2011, we will be able to offer two morning classes during the 2011-12 School Year - Awesome! See you all August 24th! Enjoy your summer vacations.
