Watch the La Mesa Model Railroad Club in action this weekend at the San Diego Model Railroad Museum!​

Join us Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31 to see club members operating trains across their incredible layout and experience the sights and sounds of realistic railroad operations up close.​

Whether you’re a longtime railroad fan or just discovering the hobby, this is a great chance to watch detailed model trains in motion and meet the passionate operators behind the layout.​

Celebrate the start of summer with us at the San Diego Model Railroad Museum! Join us Saturday, June 13 from 11 AM–4 PM for our Summer Kick Off Family Day, made possible with support from .​

Enjoy a full day of family fun including:​

• Hands-on toy train play tables​

• Crafts throughout the museum​

• A summer scavenger hunt​

• Temporary tattoos​

• Bubble activities in the garden​

• Fun photo opportunities​

• And a special limited prize for guests who complete the scavenger hunt!​

Get a sneak peek at some of the model trains, collectibles, and hard-to-find hobby items you’ll find at our Community Swap Meet this Saturday, May 23, 2026.​

We’ll have new vendors, never before seen finds including a great selection of G-Scale available throughout the event! Whether you’re a longtime collector or just getting started, you never know what gems you’ll discover!​

Admission:​

$3 for individual buyers​

$5 for couples/duo buyers​

We’re currently accepting vendors, don’t miss your chance to join us! Vendor spaces are just $5. To reserve your spot, email [email protected] and let us know how many tables you’ll be bringing. Vendors must arrive by 7:00 AM and provide their own table.​
