The San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy (SDRVC) is a nonprofit (501(c)3) organization dedicated to conservation, education and recreation. The SDRVC protects, preserves and shares the ecological important land and water of the San Dieguito Watershed. The San Dieguito is the most intact watershed remaining in San Diego County, a county known for the highest biodiversity in the contiguous United S

tates. The San Dieguito contains a fully connected matrix of diverse ecosystems and species richness that may be experienced on the San Dieguito River Park’s network of multi-use recreational trails. Education – Gather and share knowledge by collaborating with community members, students and scientists to collect data on the diverse flora and fauna in the 94,000-acre San Dieguito River Park. Conservation – Acquire lands to protect and preserve open space within the highest ecologically bio-diverse county in the contiguous United States. Restore habitats wildlife by removing non-native, invasive plants and vegetation and planting native species. Recreation – Share 65 miles of multi-use trails and connect the renowned Coast to Crest Trail that will one day stretch more than 70 miles across the San Dieguito River Park.

We tip our hats to four hardy hikers: Clifford Reader, Minhua Zhou, Sherman Chen and Jizheng Xu. Reader says they knocked out all five hikes in a single day, logging about 21 miles with an active walking time of nearly seven hours. Great job!
