~ FaceLift 2018 ~
This community volunteer event was held in the Cherokee Point Neighborhood of City Heights. With 36th Street closed off between Wightman Street and University Avenue, two homes and 17 parkways received some much-needed attention from over 300 volunteers supporting FaceLift City Heights partnering with City Heights Community Development Corporation. There were many residents, corporations and community groups working hard to improve our community. It was such a fun day!
Volunteers from San Diego Gas & Electric, City Heights Rotaract Club, Aaron Price Fellows Program , Azalea Park Neighborhood Association, EDCO Waste and Recycling, Union Bank, Wakeland Housing & Development, Star/Pal United for Youth, Self-Help Federal Credit Union, PCL Construction, Price Charities, SanDiego AsianYouth, SDCountyHHSA, Cardinals Interact, and many individuals who spent their day improving the lives of others.
~FaceLift History~
A FaceLift day brings together neighborhood associations, local businesses, and community volunteers to revitalize homes and strengthen the neighborhood for a strong future. Nearly 600 homes have been FaceLifted since 1995.
Companies have organized team building events around FaceLift day by sponsoring a house. Local neighborhood groups and other non-profits such as the Azalea Park Neighborhood Association, Project C.L.E.A.N., Carey Construction and Design, Ocean Discovery Institute, San Diego Canyonlands and Rebuilding Together San Diego pitch in to make FaceLift City Heights a stronger and more successful grassroots event.
