💙 "Thank You" Thursday 💙

Gently Hugged works alongside trusted partners, like Bridge Prenatal, to ensure essential baby items reach families who need them most. Through these partnerships, thoughtfully prepared bundles are placed directly into the hands of families during one of life’s most important and vulnerable moments.

Our distribution partners include nurses, social workers, hospitals, clinics, and community agencies with direct relationships to families throughout San Diego County. These trusted professionals help identify need and ensure Gently Hugged bundles reach families who need them most.

Today we are saying, "Thank You!", to and Dr. Arij Faksh - who is shown here picking up bags from our Rancho Bernardo office. Together, we are helping more babies begin life with warmth, care, and practical support their families can use right away.

GH volunteer Vicki Wright and her daughter represented Gently Hugged at the March for Babies event in Balboa Park last month — with a 5am wake-up call and coffee at the ready!

March for Babies brings together NICU professionals, healthcare teams and other organizations to support families facing prematurity, NICU stays, infant loss and maternal health challenges while also raising awareness within the community. Throughout the morning, they heard repeatedly how valued Gently Hugged’s support bags are and the meaningful role they play for families in need. The event also created wonderful outreach opportunities, allowing us to build new connections and explore potential new partnerships.

We look forward to supporting March of Dimes again next year — and hopefully having a Gently Hugged team participate in the 5K walk!

In May, we were honored to attend the fourth annual Gently Hugged Baby Shower sponsored by the Peñasquitos Lutheran Church mission’s leadership team and hosted by the Girlfriends and Grace women’s group. The event was a big success and was held at the Eastview Community Center with an “Under the Sea” theme. The clothing donations of new and gently used baby clothing were plentiful and the activities were fun. Thank you, Peñasquitos Lutheran Church for supporting Gently Hugged again this year!

On May 13, the Woman's Club of Vista held their Donation Day and scholarship reception. Gently Hugged was among the 23 nonprofits that received funds from this fabulous organization. Our funds will be designated for fleece (for our crafters to make floor and stroller blankets) and to purchase sleepers (a necessary item for our bundles). We are grateful for the continuing partnership and generosity of the Woman's Club of Vista!

It is such a privilege to deliver our Gently Hugged bundles of support to the Armed Services YMCA on Camp Pendleton. And we could not be more appreciative of the kind words from T. Berenicé Dorantes, the Director of Community Outreach. When we all work together, every mom can feel the love and support she deserves while bringing a newborn into this world. Gently Hugged is expanding its Crafters team of volunteers at our newer, second office location in Carlsbad. To kick-off our crafters drive, we are hosting a Crafters Social on Wednesday, June 24 at the Dove Library. We will crochet a Stroller Blanket and socialize to share information about crafting with our charity.

GH Crafters... please bring a new friend and plan to share your GH enthusiasm! If you're part of a club, please tag them below and share with other local chapters. Seating is limited, so reservations are required.

Sending a big Gently Hugged thank you to the First United Methodist Church of Chula Vista for their recent donations of gently used and new 0-12 month infant clothing!

It is truly so simple to host a baby clothing drive at your daycare center, your preschool, your place of worship, or your business. When planning your next charity project, please consider Gently Hugged.

We provide promotional materials such as flyers, posters, and bins for collecting the donated baby items. Drives typically last for 1-2 weeks and are a convenient way to support your San Diego neighbors in need.

The Woman's Club of Carlsbad, a philanthropic women's group dedicated to strengthening their community and enhancing the lives of others and ourselves through volunteer service, has been such a gift to our North Coastal office!

Volunteers sorted bundles of baby clothing, brought donations of 0-12 month clothing, and crafted during their recent volunteer shift. We are so thankful to Woman's Club of Carlsbad for their continued support of Gently Hugged.

Huge thanks to ColRich and their Thrive Foundation for a generous $2,000 donation! 🎉🎉

This incredible gift allows Gently Hugged to renew existing and purchase additional Gently Hugged collection bins that are placed at local libraries and businesses, making it convenient for our community to donate clothing and blankets for San Diego babies in need. These bins are the first step in ensuring every local infant is wrapped in warmth and care.
