Adjunct Faculty United (AdFac) at Community College Council meeting in San Diego

Last weekend AdFac along with dozens of CFT community college leaders and activists gathered in San Diego for a special CFT Community College Council meeting. In addition to the formal council meeting, the day-long event included a workshop aimed at identifying new leaders, building power within locals and within the CFT, and building stronger connections with each other.

AdFac President Marlo Smith & ED Dash Johnson representing members at the 2024 California Federation of Labor Union Convention! Congratulations to our CFT president for becoming Secretary Treasurer. Together, we will continue to ensure the labor movement is inclusive of adjunct faculty voices as we stand proudly in solidarity with unions across California and beyond!

Rest in power Jane McAlevey who was an incredible union organizer and author. Her book, "No Shortcuts" was read during AdFac's book club a couple years back and provided a framework for our organizing campaigns. May her legacy live on for generations to come!

AdFac sent 5 of our leaders to Summer School to strengthen our skills with organizing, negotiations and running our mighty union! This was an intensive, 5 day training and we thank CFT leadership and staff for having us!
