“Essere al settimo cielo” (EN “To be in seventh heaven”), which means to experience extreme joy, happiness, euphoria. Its origins are traced back to the ptolemaic and medieval astronomy, where the seventh “sky” or, in English “the heavens”, was referred to the Saturn orbit, the highest sky close to the divine bliss. According to the tradition, the observable skies were seven (Moon, Mercury, Venus, Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn), and the seventh, the Saturn one, represented the highest, most glorious, level before the Empyrean.
