Goodwill Industries of San Diego County is a 501(c)(3) charitable, not-for-profit organization, established in 1930 at 16th and Imperial by a group of community leaders with a vision. After more than 60 years in the Gaslamp quarter, in 1994 we moved our offices to our current site in Point Loma. Goodwill believes that work is one of the foundations of a meaningful life. s industry, we have witnessed the dramatic impact of the POWER OF WORK. In the beginning we were simply known as an employer of persons with disabilities. Today's Goodwill is a vital, proactive organization that, in addition to providing training and paid work experience to people with developmental disabilities, also offers free services to anyone in the community who is looking for a job. We do not conduct traditional fundraising activities, instead we use the revenue from selling donated goods to help fund the operation of our training and employment services. In addition to our retail stores, our operations include e-waste collection, recycling and workforce development.
