This year's program also includes singers, food, and special guest speakers, Bonnie M. 5/31/25: Good times at the Poway Community Library celebrating Asian American, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander Heritage Month. County Employee Resource Groups (Asian Pacific Alliance of County Employees - APACE, PISCE, VALOR, County of San Diego Filipino American Employees Association) came together to celebrate in partnership with Poway County Library.

The County’s Tuberculosis Control Program is working with St. Michael’s Catholic Church in the Paradise Hills area of San Diego to notify church members and visitors potentially exposed late last year to tuberculosis (TB).

Join us May 10, 2pm - 4pm at the Chula Vista Public Library to celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander Month. The curators of the Filipinos of South Bay Exhibit will be on hand to give tours of the exhibit before the presentation of Kapwa Through the Arts. The even is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Two local artists will share the experience of kapwa. Salvador S. Idos, a retire Filipino language teacher will share his poem "Kapwa" found in his book "Sulyap ng Kadakilaan," ??? of greatness.

Bryan Pangilinan was raised in the South Bay and his involvement in community helped form his Filipino identity. He is a singer, dancer, musician and Composer/Executive Producer of "Larry the Musical," the story of Larry Itliong and the Farm Workers union in Delano, California.

: Application Deadline EXTENDED: The Filipino Young Leaders Program (FYLPRO)’s Tayo is looking for its sixth cohort of dynamic content creators and youth leaders who want to focus their talents to support wellness, health equity, and advocacy for the Filipino American community.

The fellowship program will run from June 1 - August 31, 2025. The fellowship program is primarily virtual with optional opportunities to attend in-person events (ex. conferences, health fairs, festivals, etc) based on interest, location, and availability.
