Hi friends!
I just wanted to let you know everything went well and I’m home now for recovering!

I experienced some of the most physically and emotionally draining days of my life in the aftermath of my double mastectomy.
Not only did I have to learn to cope with the idea that my breasts were taken from me, but I also have four drains protruding from my torso, have to wear a surgical bra that is more uncomfortable than any lingerie I’ve ever worn, and sore, deep underboob incisions to boot.
But my friends are incredibly supportive during this time, and while there are no guidelines on the exact right things to say or do, they’ve been amazing.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reaching out with your kind words of love. Please know that it meant the world to me. I wish I could find better words to express how grateful I am for all your messages, thoughts, prayers, and love, because I really am so touched.

Also, I’d like to thank you all for your donations. Your kindness will not be forgotten!

I appreciate any love and support you can send my way, and I continue to fight this battle with cancer any way I can!

At 36 years old our friend Mari has been diagnosed with Stage2 breast cancer. Mari can be defined by the many positive attributes of her personality, but one thing she refuses to be defined by, is this disease.

Mari will undergo a double mastectomy in April 8th and she will unfortunately need more treatment to defeat this disease such as radiation.

If we have come to learn anything about Mari, it is that she is a fighter. We have no doubt that she will approach this all head on and will fight with true bravery and grace. A text from her to our friend group recently said, “Was hoping to avoid surgery but I don’t want any regrets or worries and want to fight as much as possible so ultimately if that’s what I need, I’ll suck it up.” We are truly in awe of her strength and motivation, which are fueled by the love she has for her family and friends.

Anyone who knows Mari well, knows that she would do anything for the ones she loves. It is now our turn to be there for her. We are kindly asking that you please help ease the financial burden that is placed on Mari. Any donation is so greatly appreciated. We want to thank you all in advance for your generosity and love shown to Mari.

In July 2020 Mari was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer.

Her friends have decided to start this fund page to help Mari with her very expensive medical expenses.

Mari moved to America 5 years ago from Brazil. Due to the very expensive medical expenses Mari’s savings have taking a massive hit and are almost gone.

She has just started her last round of chemotherapy, which will last for 8 weeks, and with many more medical expenses ahead we are asking for any little help to help Mari and in her time of need.
