📣 EMPLOYEE RECOGNTION 📣

⛑️ Safety Champion Award: Leslie is a wonderful swim instructor especially when it comes to our Adaptive Lessons. She is always willing to give her best and impart that knowledge to all. She is kind and patient to all her participants. Leslie takes her time to accommodate and create a lesson plan for each and every individual.

💡Inspiring Leader Award: Nolan leads with his heart and inspires everyone around him. His energy, positivity and dedication make him a central part of our team. Nolan brings brightness and enthusiasm to every program he works in, making each one better for both kids and staff!

🫂 Community Connector Award: Susanna is our incredible janitorial team member. Every day, she works tirelessly to keep our locker rooms spotless and our restrooms sanitized. Her dedication ensures that everyone feels safe, welcomed, and at home. We truly appreciate Susanna—our team and members love her!

🤩 Team Spirit Award: Karen embodies the spirit of the Y! She is a team player and is quick to fill in anywhere she is needed. When working Karen engages with participants and ensures they’re having fun and feeling heard and valued! Karen truly shines in all roles and greatly makes an impact on all our of CYD programs!

Congratulations to our Rancho Family YMCA Gymnastics Director, Diane Wavrik, for being honored at the 2026 Women of Distinction Ceremony 💐💖

Diane is a truly mission-driven leader within the YMCA of San Diego County, having dedicated 36 years of service to the San Diego communities. Diane’s journey began as an 8-year-old gymnast at the Y which then grew into a lifelong commitment to the Y at multiple branches in different professional roles.

Over the years, she has built thriving gymnastics programs that now serve 700+ youth each month, coached championship high school teams, and mentored countless young leaders—many of whom began as athletes in her program and now work for the Y. 75% of her staff are current or past members of the YMCA gymnastics team. Providing these young leaders with their first job opportunity is an extremely important part of what her program is all about.

In her personal life, Diane is very passionate about serving children in foster care. She has adopted two girls from the foster care system, Elizabeth (now 32 years old) and Bailey (now 19 years old). Both are her biggest blessings and watching them grow into adulthood has been her most incredible achievement. In her career, she works to support foster parents and to help connect them to the services offered by the YMCA. Working for an organization that supports both her love for gymnastics and her heart for foster youth has been a driving force in her dedication to her job.

Diane’s dedication, leadership, and heart for youth truly embody the YMCA mission and continue to create a lasting impact in our community 🤸‍♀️💫

🤩 Team Spirit Award: Andy is one of our amazing Adaptive Leaders in both our day camp and afterschool programs. Andy shows up every day with heart, dedication, and a true commitment to supporting our kiddos and their families. The bonds he’s built with the kids are amazing and he consistently helps them shine in their fullest potential. He has been an incredible asset to our Youth programs!

🫂 Community Connector Award: Beth is one of our evening Member Service Representatives. She’s been with our Y for the last few months and has made an tremendous impact on our community. She always has a smile on her face & truly gets to know each and every member!

💡Inspiring Leader Award: Coach Bob is an incredible leader in our Aquatics department. He leads our Masters Swim program, teaches swim lessons, supports waterfront day camps, AND raises funds for our annual campaign all with a beaming smile on his face. Coach Bob has been with the Y since 1978 and he has inspired, coached, and impacted so many lives at the Y!

⛑️ Safety Champion Award: Hajni is one of our full time coaches primarily supporting our gymnastics program at the Escondido location. She has been so dependable and consistent in guiding our amazing gymnastics teams and classes! Hajni ensures that our gymnastics center is filled with a fun & creative layout and most importantly a safe space for all!

We are SO lucky to have Andy, Beth, Coach Bob, and Hajni on our Rancho Family YMCA team - congratulations & thank you! ✨💛
