Over the past several months the CPMCC has had the honor to host and support ’s 18 week class series! 🎭

Students gained experience in writing and performing Chican@ theater and had a special performance on Chicano Park Day. It was amazing to see the students grow and become more confident on stage!

Las y los estudiantes adquirieron experiencia en la escritura y presentación de teatro chican@, y tuvieron una presentación especial durante el Día de Chicano Park.¡Fue increíble ver cómo las y los estudiantes crecieron y ganaron más confianza sobre el escenario!

Free film, dinner included. When this film opened at the Adams Avenue Theatre in 1990, it sold out the first night!

CITY COUNCIL MEETING TONIGHT!

If you cannot attend tonight’s city council meeting where they will be discussing the city’s budget you can submit a public comment using the form info above!

Visit the link (https://www.sandiego.gov/city-clerk/agenda-comment-form) and fill out the form. Please ensure the meeting date is correct, select city council comment, and add the agenda item number ( #600), and click OPPOSE.

In the comment section include your thoughts on how you feel about arts and culture funding being cut.

This is the last chance to get your voice heard regarding the FY27 budget!

We are so proud of our student interns who put in so much hard work putting this exhibition together ✊🏽

Sueños Del Futuro: Youth Led Land Stewardship is an exhibition that allows the youth to imagine the future through art, storytelling and design.

We encourage artists to read a poem, share a visual, and get creative during the 2 minutes you have to express how you feel about the lack of support for the arts.

Share this with your local creatives! This is the last chance for public comment.

May 27th will be the last chance for public input before the finalization of the budget. Mayor Todd Gloria is planning to obliterate arts funding. We must show up and make our voices heard! Art saves lives!

There will be a press conference and rally before the city council meeting.

Press Conference & Rally start at 4:30pm.

Sueños Del Futuro is now on display at the CPMCC!

If you did not have a chance to attend the opening reception you can now experience the new exhibit showcasing artwork from local youth and students from neighboring schools!

In this exhibit students were asked to imagine the future through art, storytelling, and design.

Si no tuviste la oportunidad de asistir a la recepción de inauguración, ahora puedes disfrutar de la nueva exhibición que presenta obras de arte de jóvenes locales y estudiantes de escuelas vecinas.

En esta exhibición, se les pidió a los estudiantes imaginar el futuro a través del arte, la narración de historias y el diseño.

The Islamic Center of San Diego has established the Official ICSD Victim & Family Support Fund to support individuals and families impacted by the tragic shooting incident at the ICSD masjid campus.
This fund will help provide direct assistance and recovery support for those affected during this extremely difficult time.
ICSD is managing this effort directly to help ensure transparency, accountability, and coordinated support for impacted families and community needs connected to this incident.
We respectfully ask community members not to create unofficial fundraising campaigns and to rely only on official ICSD communication channels for verified donation information.
Donations may be made as sadaqah or general charitable contributions.
