We asked our high school student intern to create an art piece that represents her identity while reflecting the spirit and mission of Centro Cultural de la Raza — and look at this beautiful, impactful work of art created by Jennifer Velela Cruz. ✨

Through creativity, and self-expression, Jennifer reminds us of the power of youth voices in our community. Her artwork is a reflection of resilience, identity, and the importance of sharing our stories through art.

We are deeply grateful to have you as part of our student intern cohort, Jennifer. Thank you for sharing your talent, vision, and heart with our community. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things you continue to create. 🎨❤️

Sometimes artwork gets covered as we prepare for the next exhibition, and it can be hard to see it come off the walls. But these transitions remind us of our commitment to community programming and to creating space for more artists to share their work.

A special thank you to MEChA and all the volunteers who helped us today—we’re almost done! We’re so grateful for everyone who supports Centro. We couldn’t continue our exhibitions and programming without your love and support.

So glad you all had fun and enjoyed the day! ❤️🌟
