Today, Good For Others Foundation had the opportunity to join Casa Familiar and community partners in San Ysidro for the ribbon cutting of the new La Semilla Climate Resiliency Center.
La Semilla is a neighborhood-scale environmental justice and climate resiliency hub designed as both a community resource and a demonstration site for practical, affordable solutions. Its work addresses challenges including air quality, clean transportation, sustainable building, water conservation, energy generation and conservation, and food growth — while creating opportunities for residents, local organizations, and public partners to participate in shaping solutions for the community.
Projects like La Semilla are a strong example of what community-centered investment can look like: pairing physical infrastructure with education, partnership, and solutions that can extend beyond the walls of a single facility.
Congratulations to Casa Familiar and everyone who contributed to this milestone. We were proud to be there in support and to celebrate alongside the San Ysidro community.
