The tragedy that took place at the Islamic Community this past Monday was nothing short of horrific. But our San Diego community is strong and resilient and we will not let hate take that away. I am so proud of our staff at Clairemont Canyons Academy Elementary which is located very close to the site of the shooting. They had several students on the playground during this time and their amazing staff, led by Principal Victoria Peterson, worked with law enforcement quickly and efficiently to ensure all on campus were safe. The community vigil in Clairemont was an amazing cross section of our community and the message of love and support was strongly felt. š©·
