Biden extended the eviction moratorium for two months!

We must keep the pressure on until vulnerable people start getting well back on their feet

We are grateful for the hard work of everyone who made this happen, and for the courage of Congresswoman Cori Bush who led this fight in Washington, DC to pressure her House colleagues and the White House to act.

The Biden administration is set to announce a new targeted federal moratorium on evictions to replace the broader one that expired over the weekend.

A judge in Texas has ordered the DACA program to be partially ended. Hanen’s ruling is evidence that DACA is not enough. We’re done with temporary solutions & with our communities not being prioritized. We need bold, progressive and permanent solutions. Congress can deliver citizenship for millions of undocumented people NOW! In the Summer of 2020, we had our first Community Organizing Fellowship with an amazing cohort of Fellows from a wide range of locations and causes.

This year the Fellowship will last 6 months, from July through December, with monthly meetings and individual or small group work in between.

The livelihoods of many who are already struggling to keep their heads above water are at stake. President Joe Biden must not allow the economic and humanitarian disaster that is full speed in the making to happen.

President Donald Trump signed H.R. 5273 mandating that 100 percent of vehicles, trucks and freight trains be scanned at all U.S. land ports of entry. The impact this mandate will have on the San Diego-Tijuana mega economic region will be devastating.

Meet Fernando David Márquez Duarte:

Fernando is a Mexican PhD student in Political Science at UC Riverside with a Fulbright García Robles Scholarship.

As a critical scholar, he is passionate about conducting decolonial participatory action research with oppressed groups, especially in the defense of water and indigenous groups.

Through , Fernando wants to combine his academic and community work to reach a better, more inclusive and just society, and help raise awareness in young people in the US and México.

Meet Samantha Perez Robinson:

Samantha, a college sophomore majoring in sociology, is passionate about helping her community. She's never liked politics, but after her first year in college, she realized just how important it was and became actively involved in local politics and groups.

Her Native American and Mexican heritage compels her to focus on uplifting minority communities, and as an , she hopes to use her learnings to find progressive solutions.

Samantha also makes a priority, and in her spare time, she enjoys lots and lots of coffee, yerba matte & beach trips!

Today we are featuring someone whom in a not so distant future you will be seeing on your presidential ballot!

Meet Christopher Walsh:

Chris is passionate about addressing climate change via public policy advocacy and community organizing.

Having him as an in our first ever fellowship was amazing. Chris shared his hopes of running for Congress someday and for president in the future to fight for progressive change. Fellows even talked about helping him run!

We are excited for him and can't wait to see where he goes next!
