Mr. Pickles is a loving, sweet, gentle, kind, giving, playful, little rescue pup who steals the hearts of all who meet him. Pickles owner ChristianJonas is Autistic and couldn't afford a service dog...

So...

ChristianJonas rescued Mr. Pickles and trained him to be

a service dog that could help him with the challenges he faces every day having Autism. So...

We wanted to do three things...

One... have Mr. Pickles touch as many hearts as possible. Two...help other Autistic adults by providing trained service dogs at no cost. Three...Save as many pups as possible and give them a second chance to have a loving forever and noble home. This is how the Mr. Pickles Dogs For Autism Organization came about. We are just starting up!!! We need loads of help from volunteers to donors to leashes, collars, medications, grooming, veterinarian care, toys, beds, food, space... EVERYTHING! We are also looking for board members, and other organizations who would like strategic partnerships! This page also serves as a way to keep up with Mr. Pickles to fall in love with is little spirit! Feel free to contact us at (619)882-1238 or .[email protected]! Thanks so much, please like US and tell a friend!

Mr. Pickles was having really terrible seizures...As a rescue in wonder pup we had no idea he had epilepsy...but he does and there isn't any changing that.

So...We love him even more and we take even better care of him and ChristianJonas thinks it's pretty cool that they both seeing as though Mr. Pickles was born epileptic and ChristianJonas has Autism they both have Developmental Disabilities, and for that reason they are even more bonded if that's even possible.

They are like twin souls.

Mr.Pickles went to the vet where we was placed on medication for his epilepsy. He was given all his shots, dewormer, flea medicine, blood work and pet insurance and was given a clean bill of health other than his epilepsy.

If your dog has seizures it can be DEADLY...

Get them to the vet!!!

Mr. Pickles is doing great and adjusting well to his epilepsy medication!!!!

He has such a fierce and strong little spirit!!!

Much of the time you hear the Autistic being described as unreachable in our own world. This is due to the world not being particularly set up for the way our beings work; how we socialize, communicate, behave, express ourselves. Enter our world once in a while it's full of wonder and mystery.

Mr. Pickles says Happy World Autism Day!!!

We are so excited for the month of April and all of the conferences, events, runs!!!

It's our month to celebrate, educate, be visible, be counted, be seen and to be heard...

We live in a world that's simply not set up for us to be in let alone succeed in..

A world that tends to over look us, disregard us, not include us, and devalue us...

A world that doesn't give us a place at the table and the table itself isn't low enough for us to see over it...

A world that doesn't offer us equity or equality....

A world that is rich in resources and money...

Yet our services and supports that allow us just the bare bones of the ability to live in our homes instead of institutions are always being cut and what is offered keeps becoming less and less...

Ourselves and our loved ones are in a position where we can't afford to live and do not have the means to support ourselves...

And this is just the tip of the iceberg...

No we are far from equality...

But we are strong and "stand on the backs of giants."...

We are here again for another month that aims to change these injustices and to find solutions for problems such as funding, research, independent living, inclusion, communication, behavioral issues, ABA, community, transportation, housing, social skills, therapy, education, support staff, agencies, generic services, day programs, support, quality of life, visibility, outreach, early interventions, the list could go on and on...

This is a puppet of a dog by puppeteer Barnaby Dixon.

The entire puppet are pieces that are built to work together with distinct detail and all parts

His background is in stop animation. He creates all of his puppets this way and there isn't anything else in the world to date.

Let's Celebrate Autistic Women Not Just Today But Everyday Through Visibility, Empowerment, Inclusion, Acceptance And Equality. Autistic Women Are Strong, Beautiful, Smart, Brave And Capable. Autistic Women Need To Be Heard Especially Those Who Are NonSpeaking. A lot of Autistic women have been said to feel a stronger connection to animals than other people. Service dogs who are trained specifically for women who have Autism provide not only much needed support and service but the dogs also provide comfort, protection and companionship though it's experienced differently than someone without Autism. Autistic women are often times over looked, misdiagnosed, under diagnosed, not listened to, abused, and their needs are unmet at a higher rate than Autistic men. It's imperative that we change this narrative and that Autistic women have a place at the table. That they are heard, that they are seen, that they are a part of not only the Autism Community but the community at large. Autistic women are just as diverse as Autistic men and in some cases more so, there isn't a one size fits all to women on the spectrum. While not all Autistic women need a service dog or would want one even many do. As Temple Grandin is quoted saying "If you have met one person with Autism, you have met one person with Autism". Let's celebrate Autistic women and all of their contributions to humanity and society.

Mr. Pickles came across this art piece on one of his many walks around his neighborhood.

He enjoyed the way it made him feel so care free.

He felt this way despite the trash that the wind was picking up, blowing it around the glittery sidewalk.

He felt this way despite the noise from the automobiles, buses and sirens blaring and barreling down the asphalt.

He felt this way despite the people cursing, yelling and talking loudly from all angles.

He felt this way despite the fact that COVID had ravished the local restaurants and he saw the depression that sat in the empty seats.

He felt this way despite all of the emotions streaming into my mind, body, and soul that suffocated my breath and caused a deep breathe of air to be forced through my lungs on a cold January night in the smoggy city. All under the underneath the lamp posts that hung in a back drop of a canopy of stars.

He felt this way when the world would have other wise stole his joy and only offered distraction...

but he never lets it.

Instead Mr. Pickles lives truly in the moment...

He lives in the beautiful sunrise when the stars are waking up...

new, young, and there in that moment when the world is just getting ready for daily routine...

in that moment he dances about, he celebrates, he smiles...

and he lives.
