Fandangos, boat rides, and workshops - oh my! We went to Veracruz with the Somos La Voz by Via International and Fandango Fronterizo and we have stories to share! We are heartbroken to share this news. Vero was a true inspiration for youth and adults alike. Please visit Aztlan Libre Galeria Mestizaje and Youth Brigade pages to support Vero’s family and community during this time. Donations are being accepted for funeral expenses and backpack drive to be held in Vero’s honor. Descansa en poder mija ✊

Saludos desde Cosamoalapan, Veracruz! We are about halfway through our trip and it has been spectacular. Words can’t begin to describe the magic of this experience. From the warmth of the host culture, to the bonding between students and staff and families, to the complete immersion into a brand new culture, the delicious food, did I mention the music?! We are filled with gratitude to have this experience together and can’t wait to bring our learnings back to San Diego to share with our community back home. Adelante, equipo! Viva Mexico! Viva el Son Jarocho! Viva la comunidad fandanguera! Viva Somos La Voz!

🎉 Congratulations to our Executive Director, Molly Porth Cabrera, on graduating from the RISE San Diego Urban Leadership Fellows Program!

Over the past year, Molly has grown alongside fellow social impact leaders and presented Paid Aid, a Community Action Project created in collaboration with Do Good Leadership and Loretta, Your Do-Good Leadership Coach to explore more equitable support for social impact leaders and care workers.

We're proud to celebrate this milestone and all that lies ahead. 💙
