🚰 Turn the Tap On Today!

Billions of dollars have been spent on water infrastructure in the last decade, but with little knowledge transfer to the community, the infrastructure is often ill maintained ending up broken and unused.

The WASH on Wheels Project aims to change this through a simple and cost effective approach:
1. Travel to schools with technicians and equipment to fix infrastructure.
2. Teach local government officials basic water infrastructure maintenance.
3. Create a chain of communication between the community and the government.

With this approach we have managed to restore water access in 184 schools reaching 122,000 students in just 8 months.

In 2023 we hope to reach even more.

How far we have come, and how far we have to go…

In its first 6 months, the project alone restored water to over 117schools, reaching over 90,000 students directly, and over 400,000 community members indirectly.

In 2023 we set our sight even higher, with the sim of reaching an additional 250 schools throughout Ethiopia.

But to do that we need YOU to help us TURN THE

As we approach 2023 we will share different ways that you can in communities in Ethiopia, making a difference to the lives of millions.

Yesterday we were joined by the at our offices in Tel Aviv to learn more about the work NALA does around the world.

The students participated in an activity that required them to think creatively in building up their own rural village in 🇪🇹

The questions asked by the group showed their interest in the topic and the potential of our next generations leaders!

Perhaps most excitingly we heard from two students who partook in our recent San Diego Jewish Academy hackathon for engineering students.

Their hands-free hand washing station designs were innovative and actionable and we look forward to the final event where the winners will be receiving a 2 week communication internship with NALA’s Tel Aviv team!

NALA is incredibly excited to announce that we are getting geared up for the launch of our WASH on Wheels project!

The WASH on Wheels program aims to refurbish ageing and disused water systems in a 500 schools over the course of one year, bringing safe water to approximately 500,000 children.

The WASH mobile clinic will be equipped with the necessary tools and skilled technicians to address easily repaired technical issues bringing safe water and sanitation services to schools, aiding in reducing the transmission of diseases.

𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆?
NALA's vision is a world free of neglected tropical diseases ( ), not just because they cause physical and cognitive impairments in children and adults but also because they perpetuate the cycle of poverty.

The estimated global economic cost of trachoma alone is $2.9 - $8.0 billion dollars, imagine the changes that could be made to peoples' lives if this cost was removed.

In the face of COVID-19 and the result it is having on peoples livelihoods, NALA continues to work hard with our communities on the ground to prevent the spread of disease and break the cycle of poverty!

NALA, a pioneer in WASH-NTD* coordination, teaches the importance of hand washing with soap to school aged children and partner communities. COVID-19 has only further highlighted the need to provide safe and clean water access for all communities, and NALA has and continues to work hard to ensure that this standard is met by all partner communities.
