We had a great time making freezer-bag ice cream, working on advancements, and having our elections this week. Our tip for the freezer bag ice cream? Make sure your freezer bag is well sealed so the ice salt and ice cream sections don't get mixed together!!

We had a great weekend camping at Palomar Mountain. Not only was the weather and scenery beautiful, we got to practice a bunch of different scout skills while enjoying ourselves!

What were some highlights?
🏕Setting up tents in the dark the day we arrived
🏞Gorgeous morning hike with beautiful old trees
📷Taking some epic photos for the photography merit badge
🍎Tour of an apple orchard from the homesteading era, where we picked heirloom apples from trees that were 100+ years old!
🍲Dutch-oven cooking a delicious meal
🌠Stargazing!

Our Troop has had an absolutely amazing year in 2023 with our scouts earning fun badges and learning leadership skills. Your direct donation or purchase of a wreath support our scouts by paying for campouts and activities throughout the year.

It's annual planning time! Once a year we all brainstorm fun events to do over the next 12 months. Then, during each of our monthly planning meetings we choose ideas from the board to create fun meetings, plan memorable camping trips, and reserve time for important service projects we'd like to accomplish this year. Pack 24 is now accepting new cubs!
Come one, come all, Pack 24 in Point Loma is a great Cub Scout Pack to join. These 5-10 year old adventurers meet at the Point Loma Presbyterian (Red Brick) Church from 6-7 pm Tuesday night and have TONS of fun activities, including trips to the fire station, pinewood derby, and several family campouts per year. Plus, each meeting is packed with games and working on different scout skills.
We were excited to help at the info station today and are proud to be able to help support our fellow unit, Pack 24!

A couple of our Scouts are working on their cycling merit badge, and what better way to get in that 25-mile ride than participating in Bike the Bay!
We lucked out with gorgeous weather, and of course a great crowd of people to ride over the Coronado bridge with. They wouldn't let us stop on top of the bridge for photos so we took our underneath.
Great job completing this long ride, everyone! 🎉

What's harder: building a tent while blindfolded, or directing a blindfolded person to build a tent? Both are challenges that build leadership, listening, and communication skills, and that's why it's one of our fun scout games we play at meetings. 🙂
Great job Troop 24G for once again working through the blindfold build challenge!

Last week was our end-of-summer bonfire at the beach! A big thanks goes to Mr. Pat for bringing all the wood, and to everyone who brought snacks to share! It was fun getting to catch up with everyone and hear about each others summer activities.
