Today, the Young Excellence Club spent time discussing the importance of the UC Personal Insight Questions (PIQs) and how they are used in the college application process. We talked about why it’s important to start building a strong college résumé now through leadership, academics, extracurricular activities, and community involvement so that, when it’s time to apply, they have meaningful experiences to write about.

The second half of our meeting was dedicated to planning this year’s community service projects. Community service is one of the core pillars of the Young And Prosperous Foundation. Our program is 100% free for every student, but we believe they repay that investment by giving back to the communities that have poured into them.

We’re not just preparing young men for college. We’re preparing them to become leaders who understand the importance of serving others.

First college tour of the year is officially in the books! 🎓

Otay Ranch HS + O’farrell Charter School ✌🏾

College tours give students the opportunity to see themselves on a college campus, explore majors they may be interested in, ask questions, and receive valuable advice from admissions staff about what it takes to earn acceptance.

A special thank you to our student leaders, Brooklyn and Devin from Otay Ranch High School and Natal and Emily from O’Farrell Charter School, for helping organize this tour and encouraging their peers to pursue higher education.

For many of our students, this was their very first time stepping onto a college campus, and the University of Southern California (USC) did not disappoint. Experiences like these inspire dreams, build confidence, and remind our students that college is not just a possibility, it is within reach.

The journey to higher education continues.

A heartfelt thank you to Harrah’s Resort and All In for Change for believing in the work my team and I are doing in our community.

We are also incredibly grateful to everyone who took the time to vote for the Young And Prosperous Foundation. Because of your support, we placed in the Top 15 and were awarded a $5,000 grant.

This funding will go a long way in helping our students reach their individual goals as they pursue higher education. Thank you for believing in our mission and investing in the future of our youth.

🎓 COLLEGE TOUR SEASON IS HERE! 📚

The Young And Prosperous Foundation is excited to kick off another year of college tours, and our first stop is USC! ❤️💛

This college tour is FREE of charge for our selected Scholarship Excellence students from:

🏫 Otay Ranch High School
🏫 The O’Farrell Charter School

Students have already been selected and are getting ready for an opportunity to experience college life firsthand!

Scholarship Excellence was created to help change the trajectory of students’ lives through higher education. We accomplish this through three main pillars:

1️⃣ Promoting higher education and helping students see college as an attainable goal.
2️⃣ Providing college access workshops that prepare students for admissions, financial aid, scholarships, and life after high school.
3️⃣ Offering college tours both in and outside the state of California, exposing students to campuses, opportunities, and possibilities beyond their communities.

USC is just the beginning! We’re looking forward to a fun, educational, and impactful year of exposing our youth leaders to colleges across the country.

Exposure creates opportunity. Opportunity can change a life. 🎓🌎
