: We all love the funny posts about life as a beauty pro. They make us laugh, they're relatable, and they're totally fine for some accounts and audiences. 👌🏼
When considering wether certain posts are good to share or not, think of your audience; both the one you have AND the one you want. 👯
➕ Who is your audience?

Think about who's literally following you, but also who pays you for your services.
If you make money educating other beauty pros, the real-talk, life-as-a-beauty-pro posts make sense. If you have steps in place to start educating other beauty pros, they can also make sense.
If you make your money strictly from your clientele for the services you provide, you don't want to constantly post things that only other beauty pros will appreciate, at the risk of appearing unapproachable to potential clients or making your current clients feel bad.
➕ Shouldn't I post what feels true to me?

Yes and no. You don't want to pretend to be someone you're not. And yes, you do want to give your audience a real sense of who you are, how you think and what to expect. But, you're still a business professional.
Part of success in our industries relies on relationships. You want and need the people who spend their money with you to feel good about doing so.
So yes, post the things you want, that feel right and give a sense of who you are. Just be thoughtful and aware of your audience and paying clientele as you do.

If you're relating to all the posts about bad clients, no boundaries, cancellations, overbearing contact, etc. it might be a good time to evaluate your policies and boundaries, and how you communicate those things with your clients.
After all, you don't want to accept everything that happens and then take it out on your clients later - or passive aggressively through your instagram posts.
