Oceanview Mine Tour

The GIA Alumni Collective, Los Angeles Chapter invites you to a day of digging, networking and fun as we tour and screen for gems at the Oceanview Mine in North San Diego County.
San Diego's famous Pala Pegmatite Region is known to be a resource for a vast array of gems and minerals, including many colors of tourmaline; beryls, such as aquamarine and morganite; kunzite; spodumene; smokey quartz; purple lepidolite; mucovite mica and many more. The standard dig fee allows you to keep all you find.
All of the equipment is provided to ensure a successful and fun dig.

Arrival:
9:30am (SHARP) – ends 4 hours after dig starts
Check in with a GIA Alumni Collective Chapter Leader to ensure you have signed the liability release form. Please arrive on time; tardiness will delay the entire group.
Transportation:
Attendees must provide their own transportation. While you do not need a 4WD vehicle, you should not bring a car with low clearance, such as a sports car.
Cost:
$75 per person. The event fee does not cover food or beverages. Please bring your own food and plenty of water for the day.
