Recently YachtAid Global, with support from our donors and volunteers, completed work over several schools in Costa Rica through Operation Jade as we continue our global education initiative.

Over the few weeks, we were able to build, repair and restore classrooms, deliver new desks for students, tables for dining rooms and upgrade and install new kitchen appliances for the schools cafeteria.

These efforts advance the key Untied Nation's Sustainable Development Goals:

SDG #4 - Quality Education: ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

SDG #11 - Sustainable Cities and Communities: making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.

Operation Quartz - Mexico

Our initiatives engage the yachting community’s generosity and unique assets already in place to save lives, alleviate suffering, improve the planet, and build stronger coastal communities.

Recently YAG and and a crew team of volunteers spent time delivering new appliances, fixing roofs, and replacing skylights and windows among other work on a Mexican orphanage. No reward is greater than the smiles of children whose lives you’ve been able to make a positive impact on.

Operation Quartz - Mexico

Cinco de Mayo celebrates the anniversary of Mexico’s victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862 which led to the withdrawal of French troops in 1866 after the end of the American civil war.

Today, Cinco de Mayo is celebrated around the world, while the city of Puebla marks the event with festivals and the reenactment of the battle.

Last month the YAG team also celebrated another victory with our continued work in Mexico through our “build back better” initiative as we focused on many much-needed upgrades to a local Orphanage. Electrical, plumbing, and structural upgrades were desperately needed throughout the orphanage including the repair of resealing of the facility's roof that was leaking extensively.
In addition to the repairs, YAG and our supporting crew delivered new mattresses, blankets, sheets, backpacks full of school supplies and gifts for the children including soccer balls, skateboards and bicycles bringing plenty of smiles to some very happy children.

As May 5th is also the official start of our 18th year at YachtAid Global, we reflect on both our decade's worth of work in Mexico starting with our initial clean water access program, along with all our successful operations supporting coastal communities around the world.

To say we are thankful and appreciative of all our donors, volunteers and supporters over our 17 years of humanitarian work is an understatement, as we could not have been able to make the impact on the over 250 projects in more than 25 countries without such effective collaboration.

Here is to another 17 years and the opportunity to positively impact this world.

2023 International Day of Happiness - “Be Mindful. Be Grateful. Be Kind.”

Celebrating the International Day of Happiness, we focus on the goal of helping create a happier, and kinder world while taking a moment to realize what brings happiness to our lives on a daily basis. Maybe, it is spending time with loved ones, volunteering at a local shelter or donating to a non-profit organization.

At YachtAid Global we are thankful to be in a position to help so many people around the world with our natural disaster relief, marine conservation, clean water access and education and youth programs. The joy of giving is real, and being able to make a substantial positive impact on people's lives is what drives us on a daily basis. With our focus on the judicious use of funds, 100% of your donations go directly toward the people we are working so hard to support.

Every donation counts, no matter how small; your donation can go towards a single water filter for instance that can provide clean drinking water to 300 people per day, contribute to the purchase of much-needed medical supplies or personal hygiene products for the people of Ukraine suffering from the ongoing war, the people of Turkey recovering from the recent earthquakes or the people of Vanuatu who are still reeling from the two cyclones and two earthquakes that decimated the small south pacific island nation.
