4. Paid Parking General Info
Check out sandiego.gov/parking/balboapark for full details, especially for City of San Diego residents that need to register for free parking in Level 2 and 3 lots that started March 2 and for discounted resident parking that also requires pre-registering and pre-paying.
Free Parking is available at Lower Inspiration Point for the first 3 hours (south of Presidents Way and Park Blvd.) The shuttle runs daily, leaving every 15ish minutes from 9am to 6pm. Please remember that even with free parking, you still need to register your parked car at the parking meter boxes located throughout Balboa Park.
ADA Parking is free, with no time limit, in all Balboa Park parking lots and at parking meters for those with a Disabled Person license plate or placard. Any space may be used for free ADA parking, not just in the blue parking spaces marked for disabled parking.
With its great weather, miles of sandy beaches, and major attractions, San Diego is known worldwide as one of the best tourist destinations and a great place for residents to relax year round.
