Lives transformed looks like families being restored, a community full of love, laughter, fun, and a man discovering that his life is worth celebrating.

We See You’s Be a Friend Team hosted a birthday party in collaboration with our Revival House Recovery friends for our precious Jose, who seven months ago made the brave, bold decision to leave addiction and the streets behind.

Kickball and brunch by the bay might need to become a new tradition. The most beautiful part . . . Jose’s children were there playing, laughing, and being with their dad in a whole new way. Moments that once felt impossible are becoming reality.

And yes, there was a T-Rex on the kickball field who got pretty competitive. 🦖⚽️😆

Jose, we love you. Your life is precious and so worthy of being celebrated. ❤️

A huge congratulations to all of those who completed The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon here in San Diego. Our team arrived at the finish line just after the crowds dispersed. We See You receives an annual invitation to collect unused food and beverages at the finish line. 🏁 With 8 weekly outreaches across San Diego County & a weekly dinner party for 200 guests, donations like these help us meet immediate needs of hunger and thirst while creating opportunities to build relationships and extend life-changing pathways out of homelessness and addiction.

Every bottle of water, snack, and resource shared becomes a tangible reminder to someone living on the streets that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten. We are so grateful for blessings through partnerships that help make this work possible.

The God of the Bible is the ONE God, out of all other gods, of all other religions, who goes after men and women to meet us when we are at our lowest point.

He isn’t a God who is looking for the man who performs best, or the outwardly beautiful woman who looks as though she has it together. The God of The Bible isn’t looking for the most religious person who follows rules best.

He is The God who CHASES US DOWN, finds us at our rock bottom, and gives us HOPE.

This is We See You’s model for outreach.

It is for this reason We See You is in 8 different locations throughout San Diego County weekly outside of our Tuesday evening dinner parties. Our Hope Dealers go to the beaches, the riverbeds, the streets, the encampments, dinners for those experiencing homelessness, and resource centers for men & women who live on the streets.

We pursue men and women who are chained to the streets and deadly addictions, because we want to be like The One who pursued us, met us, and offers not just a way out of the pit, but also new life now, full redemption, and everlasting life.

The power of friendship is changing the state of homelessness in San Diego.
Through this pilot collaboration between We See You, Be a Friend, and Lucky Duck Foundation, men and women who say “YES” to leaving homelessness and addiction are paired with a volunteer friend who walks beside them as they rebuild their lives.

Healing happens in relationship. One friend can change one life. One life can change generations.

One year ago, leaders from We See You sat down with the leadership team at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. We shared our need for a space to host a weekly dinner party for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

We were so encouraged that when they shared that hosting a weekly dinner for men and women in the homeless community had already been on THEIR hearts. They had been praying about it . . . they just didn’t yet have the team to make it happen.

Two months later, We See You launched our very first Old Town Dinner Party at Immaculate Conception. Today, those Tuesday nights have grown into a beautiful community gathering averaging 200 guests and 100+ volunteers every single week.

This past weekend, we were honored to be invited as a featured ministry at their Ministry Fair. We loved connecting with parish members and sharing with people unfamiliar with We See You the incredible work happening at their church every Tuesday evening.

We are so grateful for all of the blessings through this beautiful partnership. 🤍
