The Tennis Council board remembers long-time fellow board member Fred Circo on the first anniversary of his passing (April 14, 1930 – February 21, 2020). Fred served as a board member of the Tennis Council since the early years of the organization. He was a proud US Navy veteran who loved every aspect of tennis; playing, umpiring and his being involved with the Tennis Council. Fred was a longtime and stalwart member of the San Diego County Umpires Association.

Fred passionately gave back to the tennis community for decades. His colleagues admired his hard working commitment to tennis activities, his innovative nature of problem solving, his high ethical standards, his generous mentoring and his gracious and kind demeanor. Catherine, Fred’s wife of 66 years, also generously volunteered at the Balboa Tennis Club tournament desk for many years.
