The Latina Muslim Foundation doesn’t discriminate between borders. We offer services for both our international refugees as well as our local underserved population here in San Diego. Whether refugees, immigrants, or low-income families, LMF does not turn anyone down. Below are a few local programs we offer currently:

1. San Diego Refugees Humanitarian Relief & Immigration Assistance. Under this program, we work with those refugees who are in Mexico awaiting their asylum papers to be processed and are awaiting to be admitted to the US. We provide:

-Food
-transportation
-temporary housing

All this is provided free of cost until they reach their family and friends in the states. Equally important, we collaborate with other non-profit organizations to achieve this mission. We are an integral part of their transition to their new home in America.

2. a) Food Bank

We partnered with the San Diego Food Bank in order to achieve this. We distribute on a biweekly basis food to individual and families in:

-San Diego
-El Cajon
-Oceanside. These families meet the federal guidelines for food assistance. The food package consists of:

-canned goods
-dry grains
-plant based proteins
-nutritious snacks

b) Distribution of Qurbani to Muslim families and the needy

Qurbani means sacrifice. Every year during the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah, Muslims around the world slaughter an animal – a goat, sheep, cow or camel – to reflect the Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail, for the sake of God. Qurbani meat is donated to our shelter and we deliver and donate it to families that are in most need. If you are interested in volunteering please email as at [email protected]
