What if our children didn’t just learn Scripture—but learned how to seek God’s perspective through it?

In Matthew 16, Peter hears Jesus explain what is going to happen to Him and immediately reacts from what seems right from a human perspective.

Jesus responds:

“You do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.” — Matthew 16:23

What a powerful distinction.

Melissa, a Revelate Learning practitioner and founder of Living Water Legacy Academy, sat down with her son to explore this passage together. But before they began, they did something simple and profound:

They invited the Holy Spirit into the learning.

“Show us what You want us to see.”

And then Melissa didn’t simply tell him what the Scripture meant.

She asked questions.
She listened.
She gave him space to wrestle with the ideas, make connections, and discover what God might be revealing to him.

And he did.

This is the difference between simply transferring information and cultivating revelation.

Our children don’t only need adults who will give them the right answers.

They need to learn how to seek Truth.
How to ask deeper questions.
How to discern.
How to recognize the difference between human wisdom and God’s wisdom.
And how to invite the Holy Spirit into their learning.

Because one day, we won’t be sitting beside them telling them what to think.

Our hope is that they will know where to go for Truth—and how to seek God’s perspective for themselves.

Your child is going to graduate knowing a lot of things.

But will they know what to do with their life?

Will they know how to recognize truth when the world offers them a thousand versions of it?

Will they know who they are when achievement, popularity, and performance are stripped away?

Will they know how to hear God for themselves?

Will they have the courage to follow Him when it costs them something?

These may never appear on a transcript.

But they may be the most important outcomes of an education.

"What does this student need to know?”

We’re asking:

“Who is this student being prepared to become?”

Because one day, the classes will end.

The grades will be final.

The diploma will be handed to them.

And then they will walk into the world carrying whatever their education formed within them.

**“Who is my child becoming because of their education?”**

Because every classroom is forming something.

What students learn to value.
What they believe is true.
How they see themselves.
How they understand God.
What they believe their life is for.

We care deeply about who stands in front of our students.

Because a teacher is never just delivering a lesson.

They’re speaking into identity. Shaping perspective. Modeling character. Helping students wrestle with truth, purpose, faith, and the decisions that will shape their future.

That’s why at EQUIP 210, we believe the spiritual life of our teachers and administrators matters.

We want leaders who aren’t simply teaching students about God, but who are actively walking with Him themselves—seeking His wisdom, listening for His direction, and allowing the Holy Spirit to shape the way they lead and teach.

There is a difference between teaching children what the world says is wise and teaching them how to recognize the wisdom of God.

Human wisdom asks, “What makes sense to me?”
Godly wisdom asks, “What is God saying?”

That distinction matters deeply in education.

Our children don’t simply need more information. They need adults and educators who are led by the Spirit—who can help them recognize truth, seek God’s wisdom, and see His presence in every area of life and learning.

We have been entrusted with more than teaching a generation.

We have the privilege of revealing the Creator in the midst of their education.
