New COVID-19 variant! This is not some “summer flu” or “summer cold.” Despite the CDC unclear and changing guidelines, please stay on top of vaccinations and continue masking!! While N95s are the most effective at reducing your risk of infection, even surgical and cloth masks are better than nothing for preventing spread of infection.

Be warned! Flu rates are up and it has been deadly even in teens! Likewise, there are measles outbreaks in the US, including Texas. Measles is incredibly contagious with devastating consequences on the immune system if you survive.

Protective measures:
- vaccines! Get your yearly flu vaccine and make sure you completed your childhood MMR sequence
- masking! N95s are effective for airborne (measles) and aerosol (flu) viruses :)
