A place where hope, healing, and community care can grow.

This is the vision taking shape in San Carlos, one step at a time.

Today begins Mental Health Awareness Month.

At Native Strength Network, we believe no one should have to struggle alone.

Mental health support matters, especially in communities where services can be hard to access. That is why we care so deeply about peer support, trusted relationships, and creating spaces where hope and healing can grow.

We are grateful to be part of this work.

If these walls could talk, what would they say?

They have stood through many years, and now they are being prepared for a new season of purpose.

As Native Strength Network grows, we hope this future home in San Carlos will become a place where people can gather, build relationships, find encouragement, and experience care rooted in hope.

Thank you for helping us move this vision forward.

Why does Native-led peer support matter?

Because support is different when it comes from someone who understands the community, the culture, the people, and the challenges firsthand.

Native Strength Network is focused on training and supporting Native peers who live on or near reservations. We are currently working on the San Carlos Apache and White Mountain Apache Reservations to help start peer-led programs rooted in the community.

Our goal is not just to bring in services from the outside. It is to equip local leaders from within.

Sometimes people do not just need information. They need someone who understands.

In many rural communities, mental health and recovery services are limited. Some people are waiting for help. Others are trying to stay stable after treatment or hospitalization. Others simply need someone safe to walk alongside them.

That is where peer support can make a real difference.

At Native Strength Network, we are working to train local leaders who can serve their own communities with compassion, hope, and practical support.

What is peer support?

A peer support leader is someone with lived experience who is trained to listen, encourage, and help others take healthy next steps.

That lived experience may include addiction, grief, trauma, depression, anxiety, or walking closely with a loved one through recovery.

At Native Strength Network, we believe support is stronger when it is local, relational, and rooted in real understanding.

This month, we will be sharing more about why peer support matters and why we believe it can make a real difference in Native communities.

What happens inside these walls is what matters most: healing, encouragement, and community strength. We’re grateful for the hands and hearts making this renovation possible—donors, volunteers, and partners who are helping turn Historic Grace San Carlos into a community center and the future home of Native Strength Network. Thank you, Kingdom Workers Builders for Christ. God is blessing these efforts.
