Men and women of San Carlos, veterans of every generation, and the family of Hyde Phillips — stand fast and hear this command.
Today, we gather under the colors of our Nation to honor a man who carried its weight with discipline, humility, and unwavering resolve. Hyde Phillips, born February 10, 1935, San Carlos, Arizona, and entered eternal rest on July 4, 2026, Peridot, Arizona — a date befitting a warrior whose life was stitched into the fabric of American freedom.
He wore the title Korea Veteran not as decoration, but as proof. Proof that he stepped forward when others stepped back. Proof that he stood the line so future generations could walk in peace. Proof that service is not a word — it is a life lived.
His final march is carried out with precision and honor:
- Viewing: July 11, 2026, 0530 hours, Burdette Hall
- Funeral Service: July 11, 2026, 0800 hours, Burdette Hall
- Interment: San Carlos Cemetery, Mormon Hill
His ceremony is executed by the hands of his people — SCAVA, the San Carlos Apache Veteran’s Association, pallbearers and honorary pallbearers who carry his memory as they once carried their ri**es. His agenda is led by voices of prayer, song, and remembrance — from Anthony Bush, Angela Randall, Cheryl Stuart, Asst. Pastor Ernest Ailak-HHC, and Marvin Mull, Jr.
And over all of this stands the scripture he lived by:
“With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.” — Psalm 91:16
Hyde Phillips fulfilled that promise. A long life. A disciplined life. A life of service, labor, and devotion to his Nation and his people. His hands worked. His heart endured. His legacy stands.
To the family — you have carried him through his final watch with honor.
To the veterans — you salute one of your own.
To the community — you return a warrior to the earth that raised him.
As commander, I issue this final order:
Stand tall. Hold your bearing. Honor this soldier not with sorrow, but with pride. His mission is complete. His rest is earned. His memory will not fade.
Strength and honor.
