Catch our Week 8 highlights from this past Saturday! The sun was radiating this week and so were the players’ smiles in San Bruno!
The games featured some cool catches, brisk baserunners, and humongous homers! Not only are our players improving but the coaches continue setting great examples, athletically and character-wise. Our Junior Giants players keep improving and thriving as we head into our final week of the season! ☀️😀⚾️

Caption: Recently, we announced the winners of the 2026 Willie Mac Award from the San Bruno League. The Willie Mac Award is given to Junior Giants player and coach from each league in honor of the late San Francisco Giants Hall of Famer, Willie McCovey. The awardees are recognized for exemplifying McCovey’s strong character and the organization’s four bases of character in Confidence, Integrity, Leadership, and Teamwork. Ethan Fong(Player) and Jenny Berliner(Coach) have been key contributors to the San Bruno League’s Junior Giants program. Ethan is regarded with high praise from his coaches, ambassadors, and commissioners for his remarkable character and exceptional athleticism. Jenny has been crucial to the success of our Softball Division in San Bruno. Without Jenny’s leadership and dedication from day 1, our softball program may not be as great as it is today. Congrats to these two awardees! Well deserved! 👏😀⚾️

This week our San Bruno League introduced an inaugural mental health lesson provided by the Kevin Love Fund in partnership with the Giants Community Fund. Our San Bruno League’s Americorps Ambassadors, in Gigi Prasad, Pavan Prasad, and Isaiah Sneed led this lesson. Even with this facilitation, the ambassador allowed players and coaches to be actively involved, facilitating an activity around social-emotional awareness. This is a major step as our Junior Giants program continues emphasizing the holistic wellbeing of youth, not only physically but mentally as well. The images showcase Junior Giants players participating in a group discussion. Ambassadors provided a safe space for everyone to feel supported.
