Mary's Mercy Center, Inc. Mary’s Mercy Center is a Gospel response to the less fortunate.

Founded in 1987, Mary’s Mercy Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring dignity by serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness, poverty, and hardship with compassion, hope, and pathways to lasting self-sufficiency. It is a place where they find compassion and acceptance, regardless of their condition of life, and find services that meet their basic needs. Mary’s Mercy Center attempts through its programs to build up and affirm the personal dignity and worth of each person that has been taken from him/her by poverty and the social ills of our times.

This past Saturday, the women and children of Mary’s Haven were blessed by the incredible love and generosity of the_rock_church of San Bernardino, CA. Rev. Timothy Paxson & their Women’s Outreach Ministry group came by the dozens sharing scripture, worship, prayer, gifts, encouragement, games and toys for the kids and a catered delicious Italian lunch.

Their ministry also donated two pallets worth of feminine products, baby wipes and diapers and so much more!

We love and welcome this type of partnership, and we look forward to continuing to collaborating together by serving our community!

The men of Mary’s Village recently completed a life-changing Parakletos 3-day retreat a few weeks back in early July, culminating in the celebration of Holy Mass on Sunday. Their experience was one of faith, compassion, and personal reflection; laying a foundation for lasting spiritual growth and a renewed commitment to living with dignity, purpose, and hope.

Today, we proudly celebrate Ronnie, a beloved resident of Mary’s Village whose kindness and dedication brighten Mary’s Table every day. As part of his program, Ronnie volunteers with a servant’s heart, always ready to lend a helping hand and greet everyone he meets with a warm smile.

Ronnie is a beautiful reminder that compassion, purpose, and community can transform lives. His journey is one of resilience and hope, and he continues to be a shining example of success as a thriving member of the San Bernardino community.

A heartfelt thank you to the iehpfoundation for visiting Mary’s Village, touring our campus, learning about our mission, and engaging in meaningful, philanthropic-driven partnership discussions.

The strongest collaborations begin with conversations around the table, but they come to life when we work together in service of our community. Without partnerships, we could not do the work we do to serve those in need so they may thrive. Mary’s Mercy Center thrives on building up the community of San Bernardino and surrounding areas, creating pathways to hope, healing, dignity, and lasting change for our neighbors experiencing homelessness and hardship.

We are grateful for the opportunity to explore how, together, we can make an even greater impact throughout San Bernardino County.

This week, some of the members of Mary’s Mercy Center’s leadership team were blessed to attend the two-day “Abiding Love” Retreat hosted by the Diocese Of San Diego & CPMC.

Alongside more than 80 participants, including: victims of crime, formerly incarcerated individuals, parents, deacons, Catholic nonprofits, prison ministers, and faith leaders; we gathered as one community to pray, celebrate the Eucharist, share meals, reflect on restorative justice, and deepen our commitment to Christ’s call to love.

The words of Fr. Greg Boyle, SJ, at FanPage continue to echo in our hearts:
“We are called to bow down to the dignity of the marginalized, recognizing the tender light of God within them. There is no “us” and “them.” There is only “us.”

This is the heart of Catholic Social Teaching: every person is created in the image and likeness of God and deserves dignity, belonging, mercy, and hope.

Today’s reading from Romans 8:26–27 reminds us that even when words fail, the Holy Spirit prays within us. And Jesus’ call remains clear:

“I was in prison and you visited me.” — Matthew 25:36

Thank you to Deacon Bobby Elnow, Executive Director Bob Cunningham, Jennifer Kelly from rise2hope, Sr. Lourdes Fernandez Reyes, ESEH from Eudist Servants of the Eleventh Hour and all the staff involved for reminding us that “we are not called to be successful, but faithful.” - Mother Theresa.

❤️ Love is what brings a community together.

Yesterday, Mary’s Mercy Center witnessed God’s love in action as we welcomed more than 300 of our neighbors in need to our Annual Summer BBQ in San Bernardino, California.

As Catholics, we believe every person is created in the image of God and is worthy of dignity, compassion, and hope. Jesus calls us to “love one another as I have loved you” (John 13:34), and today that Gospel message came alive through fellowship, kindness, and service.

Families gathered around a delicious meal outdoors, children laughed while enjoying games and activities, and our guests participated in raffles for kids, men, women, and families. Every smile reminded us that when a community comes together with love, everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible volunteers and students from Damien High School for bringing so much joy to our youngest guests. Your servant leadership reflected Christ’s love in such a meaningful way.

We are also deeply grateful to our dedicated volunteers, generous donors, community partners, and supporters who continue to make our mission possible. Together, we are feeding the hungry, serving individuals experiencing homelessness, supporting families in crisis, and restoring hope throughout San Bernardino County.

May we never grow weary of doing good. Every act of kindness, no matter how small, can change a life; and together, we are building a stronger, more compassionate community rooted in faith, love, and mercy.

🐾 Every Paw Matters. Every Act of Kindness Matters. ❤️

At Mary’s Mercy Center, our mission is to serve the most vulnerable members of our community throughout San Bernardino County; individuals and families experiencing homelessness, hardship, and times of crisis.

But compassion doesn’t stop with people.

We know that pets are family, and many of our neighbors are doing everything they can to care for their beloved dogs and cats despite challenging circumstances. We also extend a helping paw to homeless and abandoned animals in our community who deserve love, nourishment, and hope.

💙 A special shout-out and heartfelt thank you to Bear Valley Pet & Animal Supply for their recent generous donation of dry and canned pet food! Your kindness is helping ensure that both our neighbors and their furry companions receive the care they need. Your support is making a meaningful difference, one wagging tail and happy purr at a time.

We’re continuing to seek donations of cat and dog food and other pet supplies to keep this important outreach going. If you or your organization would like to help, we’d love to partner with you.

The Heat is ON! 🥵☀️🔥

Our mission doesn’t take a day off. ✝️❤️

Even on a day when Mary’s Mercy Center is closed, Ms. Norma and Ms. Jacky were out delivering water to our homeless neighbors during the heat. Their compassion is a beautiful reminder that even the smallest act of kindness can make a lasting impact.

Thank you, Ms. Norma and Ms. Jacky, for living our mission and sharing God’s love with those who need it most. 💙🙏

This past Wednesday in the Mary’s Mercy Center Chapel, Fr. Mike Barry, reminded us that our faith is rooted in knowing God and His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ; not simply knowing about Him, but growing in a personal relationship through prayer, Scripture, and daily trust.

Fr. Barry also reflected on the beautiful Catholic tradition of praying for the souls in Purgatory. Through our prayers, sacrifices, and acts of love, we accompany those on their journey to the fullness of God’s presence, living out the Communion of Saints and the mercy Christ calls us to share.

May we continue to seek the Lord with open hearts, pray faithfully for those who have gone before us, and trust in God’s infinite love and mercy.

“Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.” 🙏

🇺🇸✨✝️ As we celebrate 250 years of our nation’s journey toward liberty and justice, we give thanks for the blessings of community, compassion, and service that unite us as one people.

This Fourth of July, all of us at Mary’s Mercy Center are grateful for the volunteers, donors, partners, and friends who come together to serve our most vulnerable neighbors with dignity, mercy, and love. Your generosity reminds us that true freedom is found not only in independence, but in our willingness to care for one another and ensure that every person has the opportunity to thrive.

May we continue building a community where hope overcomes hardship, where kindness replaces indifference, and where no one walks alone.

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2

Heavenly Father, bless our nation and all who call it home. Unite us in compassion, strengthen us in service, and inspire us to be instruments of Your mercy and peace. May we come together as one community, lifting one another up so that all may flourish and thrive in the light of Your love.
