Buried in the reconciliation bill is a ban on all U.S. states from regulating AI or automation. That means no state oversight of driverless trucks, AI surveillance, or job-killing automation. It’s a power grab by Big Tech — and a direct threat to workers and states’ rights.

Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien is calling on senators to strike the moratorium language from the bill.

Continuing with OUR WOMEN’s History Month, we give honor to Clara Day. In 1947, she secured a job as an information clerk at Montgomery Wards and started to witness injustices to women and the segregation of blacks and whites in the work place. She began to campaign with her coworker Robbie Jupiter to organize her workplace. In 1955, she was able to bring over 3,000 employees to Teamsters Local 743. She later secured one of the First Leadership Roles at Local 743 as a WOMAN and MINORITY. She also played a significant role in the civil rights movement and women’s movement as well. And in 1974, she cofounded the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW) which educates, organizes, fights for voting rights and legislation to promote pay equity, and sexual harassment abolishment. She advocated for all women to have a “SEAT” in their union! Thank you, Clara👊🙌

Celebrating Women’s History Month, we honor Delores Huerta—a trailblazing labor leader and activist. Co-founding the National Farm Workers Association with César Chávez in 1962, she fought for farm workers’ rights, securing better wages, aid for families, and safer working conditions. Her leadership in the national grape boycott led to industry-wide reforms. A lifelong advocate for labor, LGBTQ+, immigrants, women, and marginalized communities, Huerta’s impact continues today.

Today, she continues to serve as a beacon of hope and world peace through her Dolores Huerta foundation that has national recognition.

Thank you, Delores Huerta, for your dedication to justice!

In MARCH, we celebrate women’s history month!

Women’s history month is important because it recognizes women’s contributions, challenges stereotypes, and dismantles barriers. What better way than to celebrate our very own local’s President… Kathleen Brennan! Kathleen made a change for the best when she pushed for the affiliation with Teamsters and we became Local 1932! Kathleen is the representation that makes our local, diverse. She’s brought on the fight for all 1932 workers for fair wages, affordable health care and better avenues for retirement. She’s known for her kindness and always saying, “I do what I do for members because that’s what counts.”
