My husband and I are still processing this new empty nest stage. We sat down on the podcast this week to look back on what parenting has taught us so far and how we’ve changed along the way. God continues to mold and teach us in every phase.

As parents, we can’t control every influence our kids encounter, but we can help shape their hearts, guide their thinking, and build a foundation rooted in God’s Word.

I had the honor of sitting down with Matt Riviere to hear his story of losing both of his sons in the same night to fentanyl poisoning -- after they took something purchased through Snapchat.

What an unimaginable loss.

We previously did a show with Jermaine Galloway (Tall Cop Says Stop) about the dangers of fentanyl, and I learned so much from that conversation. Hearing Matt share what happened to his boys took the urgency of this issue to a whole new level for me.

Parents, we need to understand what our kids are facing and talk about it with them. Please listen to this one and share it with another parent.

One simple boundary can make a BIG difference: keep phones out of bedrooms at night. 📵

Late-night scrolling can create opportunities for conversations, content, and situations you may never know your child is navigating.

Create a family charging station, keep devices in a shared space, and make bedrooms a place to truly unplug.

A recent review looked at 39 studies examining everything from phone bans and age verification to parental controls and platform restrictions.

One thing that stood out? The role parents play.

Rules and safeguards matter—but so does knowing what your kids are doing online, asking questions, staying curious, and creating a relationship where they feel comfortable coming to you when something goes wrong.

Technology will keep changing. The conversations you’re having with your kids need to keep changing with it.
