Veronica and the NCF Board visited The Alamo to see how educational access is creating meaningful student experiences across our community.

What stood out most wasn’t just the history; it was the students! 👩‍

From Sept. 2025 to May 2026, 33,945 students participated in field trips, reaching 100 Title I campuses across Bexar County 📊 By removing barriers, more students can experience Texas history in immersive ways.

Experiential learning matters 📚 Access matters 🤝 And helping students see themselves connected to history matters ⭐

Thank you to the Alamo team for hosting us and for your commitment to expanding access 🤍

Today, Veronica and the NCF Board had the opportunity to visit Faith Kitchen and learn more about the organization’s work serving individuals experiencing homelessness within the Haven for Hope community. 🤝🏽

As an independent nonprofit partner located on Haven’s South Campus, Faith Kitchen provides breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and sack lunches every day of the year, serving approximately 1,100 meals daily. 🍽️ Their work creates a welcoming space centered on dignity, nourishment, and connection. 💛

During our visit, CEO Erica Gonzalez shared more about Faith Kitchen’s role in supporting adults in various stages of recovery and stability, helping remove one immediate barrier so individuals can focus on accessing additional services, employment opportunities, and pathways forward. 📈

We also heard from Executive Chef Lorris Gibson, a Haven for Hope program alumnus whose journey, from receiving services to now leading kitchen operations, was a powerful reminder that community support and opportunity can create lasting impact. 👨🏽‍🍳✨

Thank you to the Faith Kitchen team for welcoming us and for the work you do each day to serve our community. 🙏🏽

We are excited to celebrate a major milestone for the Madonna Center, Inc. as they break ground on a transformative expansion that will strengthen services for children and families on San Antonio’s West Side.

For more than 85 years, Madonna Center has been dedicated to helping break the cycle of generational poverty through high-quality early childhood education and comprehensive family support services. Thanks to the generosity of their supporters, the organization is launching a $5 million renovation and expansion of its Children’s Building, an investment that will create greater opportunities for the children and families they serve.

Congratulations to the Madonna Center team, board, donors, and community partners on this exciting next chapter. We look forward to seeing the lasting impact this project will have for generations to come.

✨ Meet Our Summer Intern: Clara Vargas ✨

We’re excited to introduce Clara Vargas, a dedicated high school student with a heart for service and a passion for making a difference in her community.

Clara brings hands-on experience supporting youth through her work as a camp counselor with Methodist Healthcare Ministries, where she led daily activities, supervised field trips, and helped create a safe and engaging environment for campers. Her commitment to service also shines through her time with Girl’s Inc. of San Antonio, where she’s developed leadership skills, explored STEM careers, and built lasting connections.

In addition, Clara has volunteered with Dress for Success, assisting with organization and operations to support individuals on their journey to success.

Driven by her faith and a strong desire to create positive change, Clara is already making an impact, and we’re proud to have her as part of the NCF team this summer!

💙 Join us in welcoming Clara!

Today Veronica and the NCF Board had the opportunity to visit CreativKids SA at Temple Beth-El San Antonio and see firsthand the impact this incredible summer program is having on children and families across San Antonio.

From cooking classes and arts activities to music, drumming, and active play, campers were engaged, learning, and having fun in a safe and welcoming environment. We watched children prepare their own lunches, create art, build friendships, and proudly share what they had learned throughout the morning.

CreativKids SA provides much more than a summer camp experience. Through free meals, enrichment activities, and caring staff and volunteers, the program helps ensure children have a place to learn, grow, and thrive during the summer months.

Thank you to Robyn Rosen, Eric Ryniker, and the entire CreativKids SA team for your dedication to serving our community’s children and creating opportunities that make a lasting difference.

Today was a beautiful reminder of what is possible when a community comes together on behalf of children and families.

We are deeply honored to have received the inaugural Heart of Courage Award from ChildSafe during their Celebration of Resiliency luncheon. To be the first recipient of an award created to recognize extraordinary courage and commitment to the healing and protection of children is a distinction we will cherish.

This recognition belongs not only to our foundation, but to the incredible nonprofit partners, advocates, educators, counselors, volunteers, and community leaders who work every day to create safer, brighter futures for children. We are privileged to support their efforts and witness the impact they make across our community.

Our sincere thanks to ChildSafe for this incredible honor and for the vital work they do to help children heal from trauma and find hope for the future. We are grateful to celebrate resilience alongside so many passionate changemakers dedicated to protecting and empowering the next generation.

💙💛 Together, we can continue building a community where every child is safe, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.
