The University of Alabama will pursue the establishment of the School of Data Science, the first academic unit of its kind in the state of Alabama focused on artificial intelligence and one of the first dedicated data science schools in the southern United States. Set to open in 2027, the school will offer undergraduate, master’s & doctoral programs.
The school will serve students from every major and minor, ensuring that data literacy, translational data analytics and artificial intelligence become foundational skills for all UA graduates and a defining strength of the University’s academic mission.
