On July 20, 2012, a gunman at the Century 16 Movie Theaters in Aurora, Colorado opened fire, killing 12 people and wounding 70 more. Jessica "Jessi" Ghawi, was among those whose lives were claimed. Jessi was an aspiring sports broadcaster who had moved to Colorado only a year before to pursue her dream of a career in sports journalism. s, advocate to save lives by reducing gun violence. The Fund seeks to empower other victims and survivors of violence across the country, teaching them how to tell their stories effectively and how to advocate for policies to prevent and reduce gun violence. Sandy Phillips and Lonnie Phillips are available to do media interviews, community group trainings, or to speak at public events.
